Fanthorpes HiFi - Weekly Wrap Up 21st - 25th February 2022

Hey everyone, as always, we had another busy week as we review what we have been up to this week.

The idea is to give you an insight into our working week here at Fanthorpes HiFi. With what demonstrations we are doing in store and in customers’ homes, services we offer, as well as give you an insight into the distances we travel over a working week.

Monday 21st February

We started the week off with a trip south of the River Humber to Boston Lincolnshire to install a Luxman L-505UX MK2 and Luxman D-03x CD Player and collect a Leema Tucana II Integrated Amplifier and Antilla 2 S ECO CD Player in part exchange.

In the store we had a demonstration of a set of KEF R5 speakers using PS Audio and Audiolab amplification.

Tuesday 22nd February

Tuesday, we headed over to Leeds to install a set of PMC Twenty5 26 Speakers and collect a set of Dali Rubicon 6 Speakers. Once that install was complete, we set off to Altringham to deliver a Devialet Phantom set up consisting of two Phantom I 108DB and two Phantom Tree pod stands. We also took a set of Art Expression Speakers in part exchange against the Phantoms.

We had another demonstration in the store, this time comparing the Cyrus One Amplifier and new Audiolab Omnia All In One System, speaker wise we had the PMC Twenty5 21 set up.

Wednesday 23rd February

We had a local install in Hull on Wednesday, of a Project Xtension 9 Turntable, Musical Fidelity MX DAC, MX HPA Headphone Amplifier and Sennheiser HD 660s Headphones plus Chord Shawline interconnects. This was all hooked up to the customers’ existing Roksan Caspain Integrated Amplifier.

Another demonstration was taking place in the store, the focus of the demonstration was the Synthesis Taurus valve integrated amplifier. For the rest of the system, we used the Marantz SACD 30n SACD Player & Streamer, Chord Qutest DAC, Dali Epicon 6 Speakers and Chord Epic Cable.

Thursday 24th February

Thursday saw us have two in store demonstrations, in the morning we had the Roksan Attessa Streaming Amplifier, which is quickly becoming a store favourite, on a set of KEF R3 Speakers.

In the afternoon we set up a few options for the customer. Again, we had the Roksan Attessa Streaming Amplifier set up alongside the Bluesound PowerNode. Speakers wise we had the KEF LS50 Meta.

Friday 25th February

Friday saw us back on the road again, this time heading down to London to deliver a Musical Fidelity M6Pre and M6 Power Amplifier bundle as well as a preowned Musical Fidelity M2 SCD CD Player. On the way back up to Hull we also made a stop at St Neots to deliver a pair of Exposure 5010 Mono Power amplifiers with a set of Chord Clearway XLR Cables.

In the store we had a whopping PMC Speakers demonstration, the customer currently owns KEF Reference 5, and wanted to see what the PMC IB2 SE speakers and PMCs flagship FACT Fenestria could do. Electronics wise we bi amped a set of Musical Fidelity M8500s Amplifiers, set up alongside the Chord DAVE DAC acting as the preamp with a Chord M Scaler,Innuos Zenith MK3 Streamer and Innuos Phoenix Network Switch. Finished off with Chord Signature Cables.
